“Can we make a green salad every week?”
-Abdul, 4th grader
We cultivate healthy youth through growing
gardens in low-income, diverse communities.
We believe deeply in what we do and the change that we are able to make right here in San Francisco. We teach gardening, cooking, and healthy living to our youth, providing them with amazing outdoor experiences right here in the Western Addition.
CELEBRATING OUR 20TH YEAR!
To celebrate our 20th Anniversary, we will be having a delicious dinner and exciting program featuring BEEETs graduates and guest speaker Wendy Johnson at Greens Restaurant on Wednesday, November 5th from 7-10 PM. We are also holding raffle of awesome prices including wine, artisan food and gift cards to local businesses.
WELCOME SERENA AND MIYA!
We are happy to have two new staff members at CommunityGrows. Serena Padilla is our garden educator, primarily working at Rosa Parks Elementary School. Miya Yung is our first ever Americorp intern working with our BEETS Program.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 dollars this fall, ensuring smooth operations into the new year. With your help we can expand our cooking and nutrition curriculum to reach even more youth!
